Invitation to ALL students (boys/girls years 9-13) to come to the music room at Interval today if they enjoy singing in a group and want to work together on some songs.

Waitara Fire Brigade Open Day
This Saturday, from 11 am till 2 pm at the Waitara Fire Station, the local brigade is holding an Open Day to showcase what they do. There will be fire demonstrations, food, fire safety and much more!!
This Saturday 1 July at the Waitara Fire Station.

Also if you are 16 yr or over and interested in becoming a volunteer fire fighter, go along and find out how to join.
Art room use
Due to students being irresponsible and taking paint, smearing it around the school and causing cleaners extra work the Art room will be closed at interval and lunch until further notice.
Outside basketball court
From now on the PE Dept will give out 4 balls for the outside court - if these are not returned to the PE Dept the gym will be closed the following day.

Credits for Driver Licences
Just a reminder that you can now be awarded NCEA credits for gaining your Learner, Restricted or Full NZ Driver Licence! Learner = two Level 1; Restricted = four Level 2; Full = two Level 2. To gain these credits, pick up a form from the Main Office, fill out the top two sections of it (including your NSN). When complete, bring the form and your driver licence to Ms Steenson, Careers Office, or the Main Office if I'm not there. Your licence will be photocopied and returned to you as soon as possible. Credit/s will be entered on your Record of Achievement. All Driver Licences issued since 27 February 2012 are eligible.
Careers Info Hour :: Fulton Hogan
A variety of professional careers are available at Fulton Hogan which builds roads, airports, infrastructure and properties. The company operates throughout New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific and services the transport, water, energy, mining and land development sectors. Fulton Hogan is keen to see young people join the company! Scholarships available for engineering/commerce/business undergraduates, along with graduate employment programmes!

Heading to Otago Uni in 2018?
Year 13
Priscilla Sandys Wunsch Trust Scholarships are for students who want to study at the University of Otago in 2018, and who can show they are disadvantaged (financially, physically, or socially) and would find it difficult to attend Otago. For more information about these sought-after scholarships, which currently support 51 Taranaki students in amounts averaging $7,500 to a high of $22,000, please see Ms Steenson, Careers, asap. You will need to be nominated by the school so we need to know your intentions well before the end of July.
Ball tickets
Ball tickets are now available at the school office. $60 per ticket. You can pay the cost off in instalments.
Last day to purchase a ball ticket is Friday of Week 10.
The school ball is Saturday 29th July (Saturday of Week 1, Term 2).
Go in the draw to win the money back on your School Ball ticket. All you have to do is pay for your ticket IN FULL by Friday of Week 9. You will then go in the draw to win the cost of ONE ticket back. That's $60 to spend on flowers, hair, suit hire - you choose. One ticket paid for = one entry. Two tickets paid for = two entries.
