Waitara High School is a co-educational, rural High School
15 km north of New Plymouth. While we are not a huge school, we have huge expectations of our students and they excel in sporting, academic and cultural areas.
We have a unique, caring, family environment and we all look out for each other. Small class sizes and a good range of options, make us an ideal choice of school.


We are dedicated to encouraging our students to become ‘life-long learners’ who make the most of opportunities that life offers them. Waitara High School is a
well-equipped school with modern classrooms and facilities including a well-run school farm, which is an integral part of the curriculum.
